Undefeated Centre College scored the game's lone goal with just under 30 minutes to play, and held on to post a 1-0 win at the Mount today in women's soccer action. The Lions, 0-8 on the season, will be back in action on Sept. 25 when they play at cross-river rival Thomas More College.
The two teams played to a scoreless first half today, as the Mount defense matched up well with the Colonels, who came into the game 7-0 and having allowed only three goals during the season. The Lions best attempt to score came on their lone shot, by Ashley Schmid (Harrison, OH/McAuley), with forty seconds left in the game, but it was stopped by the Centre 'keeper. Shelbi Benzinger (Covington, KY/Scott) had six saves for the Lions.
