Lions' men's tennis team handed 7-2 loss at Manchester College

Host Manchester College won four of six singles matches, and all three doubles matches on Saturday, as they defeated the Lions, 7-2. The Mount slips to 4-8 overall with the loss, 1-6 in the HCAC and will be back in action on April 22 when they host non-conference rival Wilmington College.

The Mount's two wins against the Spartans came at third and fifth singles, as John Knoll (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) posted a 6-1, 6-0 win; and teammate Tyler Esham (New Richmond, OH/New Richmond) was a 6-1, 6-2 winner, respectively. Max Withrow (Ft. Mitchell, KY/Beechwood) lost his fourth singles match, 10-8, on a third set tie-breaker.

The Lions' first doubles team of Clayton Steinriede (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier) and Kyle Haas (Jasper, IN/Northeast Dubois) fell by a 9-7 margin while the team's third doubles combo of Knoll and Drew Royalty (Ashland, KY/Paul G. Blazer) lost 8-6.
