Mount men's tennis team edged by HCAC-foe Hanover College, 5-4

Visiting Hanover College posted its first conference win of the spring season, by winning two of three double matches against the Lions on Wednesday afternoon, recording a 5-4 victory. The Mount goes to 2-5 overall, 0-4 in the HCAC and will play a non-conference match on April 10 at home against Central State University.

The Lions and Panthers split the six singles matches evenly, with the Mount claiming wins at first, third and sixth singles. William Knoll (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) was a first singles winner, with a 6-1, 6-1 decision, while teammate Ian Rowe (Winchester, KY/George Rogers Clark) won his third singles match, 6-1, 6-4. Drew Royalty (Ashland, KY/Paul G. Blazer) also won his match at sixth singles.

Knoll and Rowe combined at first doubles to post an 8-6 win, while the Mount's second and third doubles' teams, fell by scores of 8-5 and 8-2. Hanover improved to 3-7, 1-2 in the HCAC with the victory.
