The College of Mount St. Joseph men's tennis team defeated Central State University 9-0 on Friday. The win brings the Lions' record to 4-6 in the spring.
William Knoll (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) defeated his opponent playing in the number one spot in three sets. After dropping the first set 6-1, Knoll came back to win the the second and third set 6-3 for the victory. Knoll also teamed up with Ian Rowe (Winchester, KY/George Rogers Clark) to win in the first doubles spot 8-2. Drew Royalty (Ashland, KY/Paul G. Blazer) racked up a win in singles and doubles. Royalty defeated his opponent from Central St. in stragiht sets 6-1, 6-1 and added an 8-0 win in doubles.
The Lions return to the Mount Tennis Courts Saturday morning for a conference match against Manchester at 10 a.m.
