Mount St. Joseph men's tennis fall to Defiance in spring season opener

LOCATION: Defiance, Ohio (Defiance College)

THE BASICS:
The Mount St. Joseph men's tennis team dropped it's spring season opener 7-2 to Defiance on Friday, with Ian Stutz winning his singles match and Cody Tallon and Ben Montez combining for a doubles win. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
No. 1 singles player Cody Hurley retired from his match after losing the first set 6-0 while No. 2 Cooper Wade and No. 3 No. 4 Guy Watkins each fell in straight sets. Stutz cruised in set three winning 6-1. Tallon lost a third set tiebreaker 10-5.

Tallon and Montez won their doubles match 8-5.

The Lions travel to Marietta on Sunday.
