TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Your Mount St. Joseph Women's Soccer team traveled to Terre Haute, Ind. to face off against the Fightin' Engineers Tuesday, March 2nd. The Lions showcased a strong defensive effort but an early goal by Rose-Hulman proved to be the difference maker.
Rose-Hulman got off to a quick start with a goal in the 5th minute of play. The Lions did not back down, as they scattered the goal with shots. In the first half the Lions had 5 shots, 4 on target, as the Fightin' Engineers keeper was kept busy. The Lions
Maddie Muterspaw finished with just 4 saves on 5 shots on goal. The Lions on the other hand finished with 12 shots and 10 were on target.
In the second half neither team could find the net. The Lions continued to swarm the net with shots adding 7 shots, 6 on target, in the second half. Senior
Lauren Haynes led the Lions with 4 shots with 2 on target. After 90 minutes of play the scoreline read the same as it was after 5 minutes of play, 1-0 in favor of Rose-Hulman.
