Each team started off slow in the first quarter both scoring less than 10 points. As the first quarter came to a close the score read 8-9 in favor of Franklin.

To start the second quarter the Lions and Grizzlies went back and forth before back-to-back 3-point buckets from Sophomore Chloe Jansen. This put the Lions up by 4 roughly halfway through the second quarter. Following the 3-point buckets Maddie Haberthy drained two buckets and finished the half off with a last second 3-point basket from Shelby Turner. The Lions entered the second half with a 5 point 26-21 lead.

In the third quarter the Lions let their lead slip but never lost control of the game. Senior Aliyah Huff helped the Lions sustain their lead scoring 5 of her 11 points in the third quarter. With a last-second foul and a missed free throw from the Grizzlies the Lions held a 44-43 lead heading into the 4th quarter.

To start the 4th quarter the Grizzlies took a 3-point lead but not for long as Maddie Haberthy nailed a 3-pointer to tie the game 47-47. Following the bucket each team would trade leads back and forth before a massive 3-point basket from Carlee Daulton and a free throw from Maddie Haberthy giving the Lions a 4 point lead. The Lions would then give up a foul but Franklin only made one of their two free throws. After a pair of missed 3-pointers from the Lions the Grizzlies secured the rebound with just 13 seconds remaining giving the Grizzlies one last shot.
