CINCINNATI, Ohio - For the first time since 2007 Mount St. Joseph University will be represented on the College Sports Communicators Second Team Academic All-America list by Center
Danny Mabe. Danny excelled both on and off the field for the Lions this season. As a Management major, Danny finished with a 3.9 GPA.
On the field, Danny was a leader for the Lions offensive line. Mabe has missed just 1 game the last 3 seasons starting 26 of the 27 possible games. Mabe led the way for AFCA First Team All-American

Josh Taylor as the Lions offense broke numerous school-records.
Behind Mabe and the entirety of the offensive line the Lions finished 8th nationally in scoring offense scoring 43.5 points per game. The Lions were 9th in total offense with 486.1 yards a game and 15th in rushing offense with 212.4 yards per game.
Mabe earned a spot on the 2022 Academic All-District Team and is also a 3-time All-HCAC selection. Mabe earned 2nd Team honors in the Spring of 2021 followed by a pair of 1st Team selections in the fall of 2021 and 2022. In addition, Mabe also earned HCAC All-Academic Honors the last 2 seasons.
Mabe becomes the first Lions football player to be named an Academic All-American since Eric Schneider in 2004 and the first Lion overall since Sheena Hundley for MSJ Softball in 2007.
