Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lions Shut Out Rose-Hulman 2-0

CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Mount St. Joseph University women's soccer team defeated Rose-Hulman 2–0 at Schueler Field Saturday night.

The Lions and Fightin' Engineers went back and forth in the first half, with both teams having opportunities to take the lead. In the 20th minute, Kendal Fox scored off a pass from Rachel Ginn, giving the Lions a 1–0 lead. The Mount's defense held strong and carried the 1–0 advantage into halftime.

In the second half, the Lions came out firing on offense. In the 47th minute, Preslee Rugg scored off a corner kick pass from Mary Anhofer, giving the Mount a 2–0 lead. Lions goalkeeper Megan Kallmeyer made several excellent saves throughout the match, helping the Mount secure the shutout victory.

UP NEXT: The Lions will continue HCAC play as they travel to Lexington, Kentucky, to face Transylvania University on Wednesday, October 15. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
