Lexington, Kentucky — The Mount St. Joseph University women's soccer team defeated Transylvania on the road, 3–1, on Wednesday evening.
The Lions' offense came out firing, scoring in the first ten minutes of the match. Preslee Rugg found the back of the net off a pass from Mary Anhofer. The Mount continued to create scoring opportunities, and in the 26th minute, Kendal Fox scored off an assist from Rachel Ginn. The Lions went into halftime with a 2–0 lead.
Transylvania scored early in the second half, cutting the Lions' lead in half. In the 83rd minute, Mount's Kendal Fox found the back of the net again, scoring her second goal of the game. The Lions' defense played very well, allowing only four shots with just one on goal. The Mount went on to win the match 3–1.
UP NEXT: The Lions will continue HCAC play as they welcome Earlham College to Schueler Field on Saturday, October 18. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
