WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph University cross country teams traveled to Wilmington, Ohio, on Friday to compete in the annual JennaStrong Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Wilmington College. The event brought together a large and competitive field from across the region, providing a strong mid-season test for the Lions.
In the women's 5K race, sophomore Amanda Zerhusen delivered a standout performance, shattering the Mount St. Joseph school record with a time of 18:55.4, finishing in 8th place overall. Zerhusen's historic run marks the first sub-19-minute 5K in program history, highlighting her continued rise as one of the top runners in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Also competing for the Lions, Sicilia Eshman crossed the line in 22:34.2, while Kaley Knapp posted a time of 26:14.1, as both continued to show improvement through the fall season.
On the men's side, Mitch Reveal paced the Lions in the 8K race, finishing with a time of 28:29.5. Logan Wright wasn't far behind, clocking 28:58.6, while Henry Bowman completed the course in 31:10.1.
The Lions will look to build on their performances as they move toward the championship portion of their schedule, continuing to gain experience and momentum with each meet.
