CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph women's soccer team welcomed the Franklin Grizzlies to Schueler Field to open their 2026 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) schedule on Saturday. The Lions got out to an early lead and finished with a dominant 4-0 victory to move to 2-0-0 in HCAC play.
The Mount got the scoring underway early in this one, Kendall Fox found the back of the net for the second time this season in the second minute of the game. They added another in the eighth minute as
Mary Anhofer scored her first of two in the match, the second came in the 14th minute to push the Lions ahead 3-0.
Both team's remained scoreless the rest of the first half going into the break with the Lions leading 3-0.
In the second half the Mount continued to create chances, eventually scoring again in the 66th minute. This time it was
Macie Starr who scored her second of the season. Assists in the match were delivered by Anhofer,
Gabrielle Eagan,
Rachel Ginn and
Khloe Young.
Defensively
Sophie Roebel and
Payge Callahan anchored a defense that allowed only a single shot in the game and no shots on goal.
UP NEXT: The Lions will be on the road on Wednesday as they head south to take on the Berea Mountaineers and try to stay perfect in HCAC play.
