CARMEL, Ind. – The Mount St. Joseph University women's soccer team was well represented on the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) All-Conference teams, with seven Lions earning postseason honors, including two major individual awards.
For the second consecutive season, the Lions claimed both the HCAC Offensive Player of the Year and Midfielder of the Year awards. This season, senior Mary Anhofer earned Offensive Player of the Year honors, while junior Kendal Fox was named Midfielder of the Year. The duo swapped awards from a season ago, continuing their dominance in the conference.
Anhofer, a First-Team All-HCAC selection, put together one of the finest offensive seasons in program history. She led the conference with 17 goals and 40 points. Her 17 goals are tied for the fourth-most in a single season in school history, while her 40 points finished just outside the program's all-time top five.
Fox joined Anhofer on the first team after another outstanding season in the midfield. She ranked fourth in the HCAC with seven assists, second in shots (51), second in game-winning goals (3) and ninth in points (15).
Joining the duo on the All-HCAC First Team was junior centerback Payge Callahan. Callahan anchored a Mount defense that surrendered fewer than one goal per match throughout the season. She ranked second on the team with 1,243 minutes played while contributing one goal and three assists from the back line.
The Lions placed three players on the All-HCAC Second Team, with junior Macie Starr, sophomore Gabrielle Eagan and senior Sophie Roebel earning recognition.
Starr started all 16 matches for the Lions, contributing two goals and two assists. Eagan finished as the Mount's second-leading scorer with five goals and four assists. Roebel was a key piece of the Lions' defensive unit, starting 15 matches at centerback and logging 1,163 minutes while adding an assist.
Rounding out the Mount's postseason honorees was junior Rachel Ginn, who earned Third-Team All-HCAC honors. Ginn started all 16 matches in the midfield and led all Lions field players with 1,276 minutes played. She also contributed one goal and three assists during the season.
The seven All-HCAC selections highlight another strong season for the Mount, as they secured their third consecutive HCAC regular season title. They will begin HCAC tournament play on Wednesday, welcoming Rose-Hulman to Schueler Field at 7PM.
