ANDERSON, Indiana - The Mount St. Joseph University women's golf team was on the road at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships this weekend, hosted by Anderson University at the Anderson Country Club. As a team the Lions finished in third place overall, led by an all-tournament team performance from
Debra Brogan.
Brogan was the Lions highest finisher in the event, carding three consecutive rounds in the 80's (82, 84, 84) for a three day total of 250. She was able to notch a pair of birdies on the weekend, both coming in the first round of the event.
Amy Smith was the Lions second highest finisher, ending the event in ninth place as an individual. She shot an 86 in round one, and an 88 in round two before a final round 83 helped her to climb three spots on the tournaments final day.
Sara Kroeger and Liv Hoinke rounded out the Lions scores that counted toward the team total in the event, Hoinke finished with a three round total of 265 good for 17th place and Kroeger finished in 21st place in the event.
Brooke Shelton was the Lions fifth golfer in the event.
