Adam Cokonougher returns to Mount St. Joseph, a former member of the football staff from 2012-2015, Cokonougher will now head the Lions Track & Field and Cross Country programs.Â
After his time at the Mount, Coach Cokonougher spent five years at Cincinnati Christian University. During his time at CCU he held multiple title, first as the Athletic Recruiting Coordinator, then moving on to direct the Track & Field and Cross Country programs. Eventually serving the athletics department as an Assistant Athletic Director.Â
Since 2019 Coach Cokonaugher has led the Track & Field and Cross Country programs at Brewton-Parker College. At Brewton-Parker he led all aspects of the Track and Field and Cross Country programs, including coaching staff management, recruiting, scheduling and athlete development.Â
At Brewton-Parker his team's saw an unprecedented level of success, including winning the men's indoor championship in 2022. In 2019 his men's team finished just one point shy of winning the outdoor championship, and he was named the River States Conference's Coach of the Year. During his nearly 12-year run in college athletics his programs have averaged a roster size of nearly 100 athletes.Â

Having worked at the Mount from 2012 to 2015 in a part-time role, this feels like a homecoming for me. Additionally, having lived on the west side of Cincinnati for nine years before moving to Georgia, there is so much joy in driving into work every day" said Coach Cokonougher. I am excited to grow this program and build meaningful relationships with the students, faculty, staff, and the Mount community.
