Marc Sabin returns for his 5th season with the Mount St. Joseph women's soccer program. Coach Sabin has been a vital peice of the women's soccer program helping the team achieve immediate success under head coach Darren Gallagher. 2024 was a special season which saw the Lions capture both the HCAC Regular Season Championship and the HCAC Playoff Title to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
Coach Sabin came to the Mount with an outstanding resume', that include an outstanding playing career at the University of Kentucky. As a coach he has worked camps for the University of Louisville and Indiana University. He spent nearly a decade working with the Classics Hammer FC, including two years as the boys Associate Director of Coaching. Afterwards he would spend 14 years working with the Ohio Elite Soccer Academy across numerous roles.
Coach Gallagher stated, “I have known Marc since 2009 and we are fortunate not only for his tactical knowledge of the game but also his passion for player development! Marc’s global connection to the game of soccer is unique and is fundamental in what we have built in four short years.”
Sabin holds numerous coaching licenses including USSF "A", USSF National Youth License, NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma and Club Estudiantes de La Plata Mencion Asistente del ler. Clinica de Futbol infantile. He was pivotal in organizing the program’s first International Trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina which was highlighted by training with Boca Jrs. Women’s Professional Team. The Argentina tour sets up a return to South America following the 2026 season as the team will experience Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
