Lions win 28-13 at home over Hanover College to remain undefeated

Box Score The Mount maintained their one-half game lead for first place today with a win on Homecoming 2009 game day, posting a 28-13 win against Hanover College. The Lions are now 6-0 this season, 4-0 in the HCAC, ahead of second place Franklin College and Manchester College, who both hold 3-1 marks. The Lions are back in action on Oct. 24 when they play at Franklin College.

The Mount recorded 239 rushing yards today in their win over the Panthers, with Noah Joseph (Roswell, GA/Blessed Trinity) and Jake Davis (Cincinnati, OH/Anderson) leading the ground attack. Joseph totaled a game-high 129 yards rushing and scored the second TD of the game with 2:45 to play in the first quarter. Davis chipped in 74 yards on the ground and added TD runs of eight and 10 yards, to open and close the scoring in today's game. Derick Tabar (Cincinnati, OH/Colerain), who hauled in a team-high seven receptions for 104 yards, had a 45-yard third quarter touchdown. Craig Mustard (Mason, OH/Mason) was 16-of-25 for 207 yards, one TD and three interceptions.

The Lions defense was paced by Erik Prosser (Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills), who had 11 tackles and Brett Hambrick (Cincinnati, OH/Elder), who had three sacks. Brian Weimer (Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills) was four-for-four in PAT kicks.
