Mount men's basketball team loses HCAC home game to Anderson University, 70-58

Box Score

Visiting Anderson University held the Mount to 37 percent shooting today, as the Ravens posted a 70-58 win over the Lions. The Mount, 1-6 overall, 0-2 in the HCAC, will return to HCAC action on Dec. 11 at Manchester College.

The Lions trailed the Ravens by seven points at intermission, but saw the score tied at 47-all with 9:02 to play in the game, the fifth tie of the game. Anderson then rolled off a 12-0 scoring spurt, down to the 3:12 mark, scoring mainly on the inside and from the free throw line, while forcing the Lions into costly turnovers and missed outside shots. They maintained their double-digit advantage until 44 seconds were left in the game. David Lane (Hamilton, OH/Ross) converted a three-point play at that point, cutting the Ravens' lead to 66-58 but the Lions would get no closer, as Anderson hit four-of-four free throws down the stretch to clinch the win.

Alex Cole (Fairfield, OH/Ross) led the Mount with 18 points and six rebounds while Lane chipped in 14 points. Anderson out-rebounded the Mount, 36-26.
