Tim Pope (Cincinnati, OH/Elder) scored the game-tying goal early in the second half and the Lions and Marietta battled to a 1-1 double overtime decision today at the Marietta College Tournament. The Mount (0-2-1) fell on Saturday to the College of Wooster, 9-0, as Tyler Kenyon (Cincinnati, OH/Mariemont) and Maxwell Hoffman (Cincinnati, OH/Elder) combined for seven saves.
Hoffman played the entire game in goal against Marietta, posting four saves. The Lions out-shot the home team, 19-15, including a 11-5 edge in shots on goal.
Michael Lucien (Cincinnati, OH/Indian Hill), Bryson Lewis (Blanchester, OH/Blanchester) and Pope were named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Mount returns to action on Sept. 11 when they host Cincinnati Christian University.
