Mount women's soccer plays to a 1-1 tie at home against Wilmington College

The College of Mount St. Joseph and Wilmington College played to a 1-1 double overtime tie on Schueler Field tonight. The Lions (1-2-1) will be back in action on Sept. 11 when they host Heidelberg College.

Jessica Pykosz (Milford, OH/Milford) put the Lions up 1-0, with just over 14 minutes played in the first half, when she scored on a direct kick after a Wilmington foul. The Quakers tied the game at one-all at 37:35. Wilmington out-shot the Lions, 23-8 in the game, including 10-5 in shots on goal but the Lions had a few solid opportunities to break the tie throughout the remainder of the game. Shelbi Benzinger (Covington, KY/Scott) played the entire game in goal for the Lions, garnering nine saves.
