Mount men's basketball falls to Rose-Hulman, 56-38

In a game that featured a defensive struggle throughout, HCAC-rival Rose-Hulman grabbed a four-point halftime lead and bolted out to an 11-point lead at the 9:31 mark of the second half as they posted a 56-38 win at the Mount. The Lions, 3-12 overall, 1-7 in the HCAC, will be back in action on Jan. 19 when they a conference game at Franklin College.

Both teams shot under 38 percent in the first half, while the Mount was held to just 29 percent shooting in the game. The Mount was 12-of-42 from the field, including one-of-10 from behind the three-point arc, and connected on 13-of-21 from the free throw line. They committed 14 turnovers in the game, and forced 18 Rose-Hulman miscues while the Fighin' Engineers posted a 39-24 advantage on the boards. Rose-Hulman, which shot 39 percent from the field, had four three-pointers and converted 18-of-24 free throws.

Ben Haarman (Cincinnati, OH/St. Bernard) led the Mount with 11 points while teammate Aaron Barber (Canal Winchester, OH/Canal Winchester) grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
