Taylor Hudepohl (Cincinnati, OH/St. Ursula) scored three goals and had an assist, and teammate Brittany Bowman (Hamilton, OH/Ross) added two goals as the Lions broke out offensively and defeated HCAC-rival Anderson University at home, 8-1. The Mount, 3-10-1 overall, 2-3 in the conference, is back in action on Oct. 19 when they host HCAC opponent Franklin College.
The Lions went to 18-0 all-time versus the Ravens today, as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half, and had a 4-1 advantage at the intermission. Hudepohl scored her first two goals in the first half, and got a hat trick when she scored at the 60th minute mark of the game. Both of Bowman's goals came in the second half. She added an assist in the game, helping set up Hudepohl on the game's first goal.
Madison Freeman (Wilder, KY/Newport Central Catholic) had three saves and Joani Kammer (Harrison, OH/Harrison) recorded a save with Freeman getting the win in goal, playing just over 76 mintues. The Lions out-shot the Ravens, 34-7 in the game, including 16-5 in shots on goal. The Mount also held the advantage in corner kicks, 9-3.
