Mount men's soccer team moves into third place in HCAC

The Lions got goals tonight from three different players, and goalkeeper Tyler Kenyon (Cincinnati, OH/Mariemont) had 10 saves, as the Mount moved into sole possession of third place tonight in the HCAC with a 3-0 win at home over Franklin College. The Mount, 6-9 overall, 4-2 in the HCAC, trails just Transylvania (5-0-1) and Rose-Hulman (5-1) in the HCAC standings and will play at Defiance College on Oct. 22.

Christopher Corbett (Cincinnati, OH/Elder) got the scoring started early in the game when he converted a penalty kick in the fourth minute of play. Nick Siko (Avon, OH/Avon Lake) would up the score to 2-0 when he scored off an assist from Logan Sillies (Cincinnati, OH/LaSalle) less than 10 minutes later. The Lions added their final goal with just under 10 minutes to play in the game when James Maguire (Louisville, KY/Trinity) scored his first goal of the season, off a pass James Hice (Cincinnati, OH/Elder).

Kenyon faced 24 shots in the game, including 11 on goal, as he recorded his second shutout of the season.
