The College of Mount St. Joseph posted its second straight HCAC win, and moved closer to gaining a post-season conference tournament spot, by recording a 2-0 home victory over Franklin College. The Mount goes to 4-10-1 overall, and 3-3 in the HCAC, good for a fifth place tie in the HCAC. The Lions are back in action on Oct. 22 when they will play an HCAC game at Defiance College.
Andrea Caldwell (Cincinnati, OH/Purcell Marian) and teammate Taylor Hudepohl (Cincinnati, OH/St. Ursula) each recorded their team-leading fifth goals of the season against Franklin College. The Mount out-shot Franklin College, 20-4, including 10-3 in shots on goal. Mariah Rhoads (Wilmington, OH/Clinton-Massie) added an assist on Hudepohl's goal while Shelbi Benzinger (Covington, KY/Scott) had three saves, posting her second shutout of the season.
