The College of Mount St. Joseph improved to 6-2 today in the HCAC, tied with Hanover College and one-half game behind first place leader Transylvania, as they recorded a 25-19, 25-13, 25-22 win at home over Manchester College. The Lions later in the day lost their Senior Day match against Otterbein University, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21. The Mount is now 10-16 overall and is back in action on Oct. 26 at Transy.
Kat Roedig (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) had 12 kills while teammate Nicole Sherpensky (Cincinnati, OH/Northwest) added three block assists to help key a strong hitting attack against the Spartans. Torrie Whitmore (Mason, OH/Mason) chipped in 29 assists and Sarah Scheid (Cincinnati, OH/Mercy) added 13 digs and three service aces. Jaclyn Stenger (Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills) added a game-high 14 digs.
Roedig had 10 kills while Stenger recorded 17 digs against Otterbein. Whitmore added 35 assists against Otterbein while Sherpensky had two more block assists.
