Lions' women's soccer team falls at home to Transylvania University, 1-0

Visiting Transylvania University scored a goal in the 39th minute of play and made it stand up tonight as they blanked the Lions, 1-0. The Mount falls to 4-12-1 overall, 3-5 in the HCAC and will conclude 2011 regular season play on Oct. 29 when they host HCAC-foe Manchester College on Senior Day.

Transy's Sammi Migliozzi scored an unassisted goal at the 38:44 mark of the game, the only score during the 90 minutes of play. The Pioneers out-shot the Lions, 19-12, including 9-5 in shots on goal. Shelbi Benzinger (Covington, KY/Scott) had eight saves for the Lions. Each team had two corner kicks. Transy improved to 13-3, 6-2 (HCAC) on the season.
