Jessica Pykosz (Milford, OH/Milford) scored a goal in the 80th minute of play today, off a pass from Andrea Caldwell (Cincinnati, OH/Purcell Marian) and the Lions went on to a 1-0 home win over Manchester College on Senior Day. The Mount concludes 2011 play with a 5-12-1 overall mark, 4-5 in the HCAC.
Madison Freeman (Wilder, KY/Newport Central Catholic) had four saves for the Mount, who posted their fourth shutout of the season. The Lions out-shot Manchester, 26-7, including 10-4 in shots on goal. The Lions also had the edge in corner kicks, 6-1.
Seniors Caldwell and Leah Schroeder (Fairfield, OH/McAuley) were honored at halftime.
