Lions' men's soccer team suffers 2-1 setback at Asbury University

Host Asbury University scored the go-ahead goal late in the second half, and held on tonight to defeat the Mount, 2-1. The Lions, 3-8 overall, and 1-1 in the HCAC, will host conference-rival Earlham College on Oct. 8.

The Mount fell behind by a 1-0 score at the sixth minute mark of the first half but saw Christopher Corbett (Cincinnati, OH/Elder) knot the game at one-all when he scored 61st minute of play off a pass from teammate Bryson Lewis (Blanchester, OH/Blanchester). The Eagles would post the eventual game-winner when they scored with just over 19 minutes left in the game.

Asbury out-shot the Mount, 21-18 in the game, but the Lions held a 9-7 edge in shots on goal.
