Marietta College's Dustin Zimmerman scored twice in the second half, and the Colonels held on today to post a 2-1 win at the Mount. The Lions, 2-2 overall, will be back in action on Sept. 12 when they host Thomas More College.
Zimmerman scored the game's first two goals, starting at 47:14 on the game clock, and adding a second score just over two minutes later. James Hice (Cincinnati, OH/Elder) got the Mount on the scoreboard in the 65th minute of play when he scored on a penalty kick but the Lions could not knot the score down the stretch, despite some excellent chances.
The Mount out-shot their visiting opponents, 13-10, but were out-shot in shots on goal, 5-3. Tyler Kenyon (Cincinnati, OH?Mariemont) had three saves in goal.
