Mount junior Jenna Shull (Springfield, OH/Northeastern) scored her first career goal, in the 74th minute of play, as the Lions went on to post a 1-0 home win over Cincinnati Christian University. The Mount is now 1-3-1 on the season and is back in action on Sept. 16 when they play at Heidelberg University.
Shull scored off a scramble in front of the Eagles' goal with 73:21 showing on the game clock, helping the Lions get their first win of the young season. Shelbi Benzinger (Covington, KY/Scott) had three saves as she posted the win, and her 11th career shutout (tying her for fourth all-time in program history).
Both teams had seven shots, while the Lions held a 4-3 edge in shots on goal.
