Wittenberg University scored a goal in each half tonight as they blanked the Mount, 2-0. The Lions, 1-5-1 this season, will begin HCAC season play on Sept. 24 when they play at Bluffton University.
The Lions were out-shot by the Tigers, 22-6, and 14-3 in shots on goal. It was the fourth time the Mount has been shutout this season.
Mount Head Coach Leah Todd had this to say about the team’s recent struggles and the upcoming HCAC season.
"We are working very hard to maintain consistency in our play,’’ Todd states. “We have spurts of outstanding play, and then we have moments where we lose focus. Our effort is there, we need to combine our effort and tactical awareness so we maintain outstanding play for 90 minutes.Â
We look forward to the start of HCAC play because it brings a greater sense of intensity to each game. So, this week, we will prepare for our match against Bluffton, on Saturday, and look to come out strong.â€
