The Mount defeated host Ohio Northern University today, 25-22, 16-25, 25-16, 25-17, in the OAC-HCAC Challenge but fell in the final match of the Challenge to Baldwin-Wallace College in four sets. The Lions are now 5-12 on the season and will be back in action on Sept. 28 when they play at HCAC-rival Franklin College. The Mount has a 1-0 record in the conference.
In the two matches today, Hannah Vanarsdall (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) had 23 kills while teammate Bethani Ritter (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) had 22 kills. Torrie Whitmore (Mason, OH/Mason) had 84 assists and 18 digs while Jaclyn Stenger (Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills) added 48 digs.
Kat Roedig (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) was named to the OAC-HCAC Challenge All-Tournament team. In the four matches at the Challenge, Roedig had 46 kills, a .220 hitting percentage, 13 digs, four blocks, and three service aces.
