Host Ohio Northern University, the 25th ranked team in the nation, got two goals from Kristina Klusek, en route to a 4-1 win over the Lions. The Mount, 1-8-1 overall, will resume play on Oct. 1 when they host an HCAC game against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
The Polar Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the game before the Mount's Taylor Hudepohl (Cincinnati, OH/St. Ursula) cut the deficit to 3-1, scoring her first goal of the season on an assist from Andrea Caldwell (Cincinnati, OH/Purcell Marian) in the 62nd minute of play. The Lions were out-shot 23-4 in the game. Madison Freeman (Wilder, KY/Newport Central Catholic) started her first career game in goal for the Mount and had eight saves.
