The Lions used a strong hitting attack tonight as they recorded a 3-0 win at Franklin College, upping their conference-leading mark to 2-0. The Mount, 6-12 overall, resumes HCAC action on Oct. 1 when they host Earlham College. Game scores against Franklin were 25-11, 25-17, 25-11.
The Mount recorded a .220 team hitting percentage against the Grizzlies, thanks to 12 kills and a .370 hitting percentage by Kat Roedig (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) and six kills and no errors in eight attempts by Torrie Whitmore (Mason, OH/Mason). Whitmore also added 30 assists and five digs. Michelle Woods (Ft. Wright, KY/Newport Central Catholic) chipped in three service aces while backcourt mate Jaclyn Stenger (Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills) had a team-high 17 digs. Brittany Loechel (Cincinnati, OH/Mt. Healthy) added four block assists.
