Mount women's soccer posts a 5-0 win at home over Anderson University

Jessica Pykosz (Milford, OH/Milford) and teammate Kayla Eiben (Erlanger, KY/Dixie Heights) each scored two goals, and Shelbi Benzinger (Covington, OH/Scott) posted her second straight shutout, as the Lions defeated Anderson University at home on Friday afternoon, 5-0. The Mount, 2-12-1 overall, 2-3-1 in the HCAC, will be back in action on Oct. 25 when they host HCAC-foe Transylvania University on Senior Night.

Eiben scored twice in the first half, and Pykosz scored the game's first goal, as the Mount jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the imtermission. Pykosz made the score 4-0, scoring in the game's 50th minute while Jordan Beal (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) added a goal at 56:19 on the clock. Benzinger played 90 minutes in goal for the Mount, making one save, as the Lions out-shot Anderson, 28-1, and 14-1 in shots on goal. The Mount also had an 11-0 advantage in corner kicks.
