Lions' women's soccer team suffers 2-1 home setback to Rose-Hulman

The College of Mount St. Joseph women's soccer team jumped out to a 1-0 first half lead, but surrendered two second half goals to the visiting Rose-Hulman Engineers, to fall in their annual Pink Ribbon Girls Game, 2-1. The Lions, 0-11-1 overall, 0-2-1 in the HCAC, are back in action on Oct. 13 when they play at HCAC-opponent Manchester College.

Victoria Heflin (Hamilton, OH/Hamilton Badin) gave the Lions a 1-0 lead just 8:01 into the game, scoring an unassisted goal. The Mount would hold that advantage until the 59th minute of action when Rose-Hulman tied the game at one-all. The Engineers, despite  being out-shot in the game, would score the go-ahead goal almost three miniutes later to take a 2-1 lead.

The Mount held a 17-10 shot advantage in the game, including a 10-6 edge in the second half. Rose-Hulman had four corner kicks to the Lions' one corner kick. The Lions also posted an 8-6 lead in shots on goal for the game.
