Visiting Ohio Northern University jumped out to a 2-0 lead just 8:47 into the game and led 3-0 at the half, as they went on to a 5-0 win on Saturday afternoon against the Lions. The Mount, 0-6 on the season, will be back in action on Sept. 19 when they host Kenyon College.
The Polar Bears out-shot the Mount, 32-4 in the game, including 22-1 in shots on goal. ONU also held a 9-1 advantage in shots on goal, as they upped their second mark to 4-0-2. Shelbi Benzinger (Covington, KY/Scott) and Madison Freeman (Wilder, KY/Newport Central Catholic) each played a half in goal, with Benzinger recording 10 saves and Freeman registering five saves.
