Host Thomas More College jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the half, en route to a 7-1 win today over the Mount. The Lions, 0-9 on the season, will be back in action on Sept. 29 when they begin 2012 HCAC play with a home game against Defiance College.
Thomas More got goals from five different players in the game, as they out-shot the Lions, 17-12 in the game. The 12 shots by the Mount was the team's top mark this season, as were the seven shots on goal. The Lions had a 2-0 lead in corner kicks. Thomas More improved to 8-1 on the season.
The Mount's goal was scored by Jordan Beal (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley), a sophomore, who tallied an unassisted goal in the 81st minute of play. It was Beal's first collegiate goal.
