Mount men's soccer team edged 1-0 at HCAC-rival Defiance College

Host Defiance College scored the go-ahead goal in the 50th minute of action today, and made it stand up, as the Mount fell in HCAC action, 1-0. The Lions, 1-10 overall, 0-1 in the conference, will be back on the field in Oct. 9 when they host Bluffton University in another HCAC match-up.

The Lions had eight shots in the game, and six came after the lone goal of the game was scored by Defiance. The Yellow Jackets out-shot the Mount, 12-8, including 5-2 in shots on goal. They also held a 7-3 edge in corner kicks. Austin Cagle (Independence, KY/Simon Kenton) played the entire game in goal for the Lions, recording four saves.
