Mount women's soccer team ends season with a 2-0 home loss to Earlham College

The College of Mount St. Joseph women's soccer team ended 2013 play today at home, dropping a hard-fought 2-0 decision to Earlham College on Senior Day. The Lions end the season with a 4-14-1 overall mark, 3-6 in the HCAC (tied for sixth place).

The Quakers scored the game's first goal at the 61:43 mark, and added their second goal just under two minutes later. The win gave the visitors their third victory of the season, as they out-shot the Mount, 14-7, and held a 6-2 edge in shots on goal and 8-4 advantage in corner kicks. Madison Freeman (Wilder, KY/Newport Central Catholic) had four saves in goal for the Lions.

The Mount honored six seniors at halftime of the game. They were: Macie Smith (Springboro, OH/Springboro), Taylor Hudepohl (Cincinnati, OH/St. Ursula), Mariah Rhoads (Wilmington, OH/Clinton-Massie), Lauren Bishnow (Huber Heights, OH/Wayne), Katie Yauch (Cincinnati, OH/Mercy) and Krista Johnson (Hamilton, OH/Ross).
