Lions' women's soccer team edged 1-0 at home by Anderson University

Visiting Anderson University scored a goal in the game's fifth minute on Saturday afternoon, and the Ravens withstood 12 Mount shots in the second half to hold on for a 1-0 win at Schueler Field. The Lions, 4-8 overall, 1-2 in the HCAC in back in action on Oct. 15 at conference-foe Hanover College.

The two teams played close throughout the first half, with Anderson tallying the lone goal in the game at 4:44 of the first half, scoring off a pass from the corner kick. The Lions pressured the Ravens defense throughout the late part of the second half, posting a 12-3 second half advantage in shots. Michelle Hessling (Hamilton, OH/Hamilton Badin) started the first half in goal for the Mount, making three saves, while Lindsey Sturwold (Sidney, OH/Sidney) played the second half and recorded two saves. The Lions also had a 10-2 lead in corner kicks.
