Host Hanover College scored a goal in the 12th minute of action, and added a second goal just 8 1/2 minutes before halftime, as they went on to a 4-0 HCAC win over Mount St. Joseph University. The Mount, 3-11 overall, 1-3 in the conference, returns to play on Oct. 18 at Earlham College.
The Panthers improved to 4-8-1 overall, 2-2 in the HCAC, adding two goals in the second half. They held the Lions to nine shots in the game, including two on goal. Hanover had 15 shots in the game, including eight on goal. Jonathan Hurley (Lexington, KY/Paul Lawrence Dunbar) and Conner Spivey (Florence, KYDixie Heights) each played 45 minutes in goal for the Mount, combining for four saves.
