THE BASICS:
The Mount (8-15, 1-2 HCAC) cruised to a sweep (25-17, 25-21, 25-21) against the Earlham Quakers (5-17, 0-4 HCAC) to get its first conference win of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions used a four-point service run by Kama Charles to open a seven-point lead halfway through the first set and never looked back. The Lions then jumped out to a 6-1 lead in game two and went on hold Earlham to a .040 attacking percentage while hitting .222 to win the set handily. The Lions again grabbed a big lead in game three at 7-1. Head coach Jon Bennett was able to get contributions from some non-starters as they went on to close out the match in straight sets.
STANDOUTS
Jessica Wilgenbusch led all players with 17 kills on just 31 attempts for a .355 hitting percentage. Josie Andres added eight kills and Charles tallied a match-high 10 digs. Sydney Wilzbach had 24 assists.
