THE BASICS:
HCAC powerhouse Franklin College (5-2, 5-0 HCAC) scored four touchdowns and one field goal in the second quarter to break open the game on its way to a 52-13 victory against the Mount St. Joseph University Lions (3-3, 3-2 HCAC) on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Grizzlies struck first on a 70-yard touchdown pass to Lee Wroblowski just five minutes into the game, but that was the only score in the first quarter for either team.
It was the second quarter when the potent Franklin offense took hold and put up 31 points. The Lions did get on the scoreboard late in the second quarter when quarterback Mike Williams hit Dustin Parker for a 29-yard score. The Grizzlies led 38-7 at half.
The Lions scored again late in the third quarter on a Williams 1-yard touchdown run.
Franklin racked up 589 total yards with 400 in the air to the Lions' 277 total yards.
STANDOUTS
Williams threw for 219 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. Garrett Weaver and Ronnell Colbert each had 57 receiving yards. Tavon Robertson led the Lions with seven total tackles and all of them solo.
