THE BASICS
Mount St. Joseph University (8-5-2, 3-2-1 HCAC) beat Translylvania University (5-7-2, 3-2-1 HCAC). Taylor Clark started the Lions scoring with the first goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Women's soccer started out with some early momentum when Clark scored a goal in the 26th minute to give the Lions an early lead. Transylvania answered back shortly after with a goal to tie the game up.
In the second half, the Lions came out to play scoring two goals. Morgan Knasel scored a goal in the 62nd minute with Kaylan Gruber scoring the third and final goal.
Translylvania out-shot the Lions 10-8, with the Lions ending the night with all there shots on target.
STANDOUTS
Clark had the most shots on target with three, one of which was a goal. Knasel ended the night with a goal and an assist to the Clark goal.
QUOTABLE
"Tonight our womens soccer program played a great match against Transy. They are always a tough team, well-prepared and organized and have given us fits the last two years," said haid coach Josh Hess. "Tonight we played a great team match. I felt like we played well for the entire 90 minutes. We have put ourselves in a terrific position with this win. I'm really happy for the team."
