Volleyball drops two matches Saturday against Defiance and Otterbein

Ten kills by Cheyenne Tobler wasn't enough to lift the MSJ women's volleyball team as it fell 3-1 at Defiance College on Saturday afternoon in the HCAC opener. The team was then swept by Otterbein University in the second match of the day.

The Lions won game two 25-22 and held Defiance to a .022 attacking percentage. Defiance went on to finish off the Lions 25-21, 22-25 25-17, and 25-18. Jadah Jackson totalled four blocks in the match.

In the second match against Otterbein Jessica Wilgenbusch led MSJ with 10 kills and six digs. Senior Taylor Ruder had 14 digs in the match.

The Lions had eight aces in the match but it wasn't enough as Otterbein got the win 25-18, 25-23, 25-19.

The Lions go on the road to take on Hanover College at 7 p.m. Wednesday for another HCAC matchup.
