Women's soccer edges Rose-Hulman 1-0 for conference win

THE BASICS:
Mount St. Joseph University women's soccer defeated Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 1-0. The one goal of the game came in the second half in 61st minute. The win evens the team's conference record at 1-1 and 6-4-1 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The game was tied going into the second half after a scoreless first. The Lions finally had a chance to take the lead after a Jasmine Cahill goal, assisted by Megan Grubb. The Mount retained the lead for the rest of the game. 

The Lions outshot the Fightin' Engineers 14-10. 

STANDOUTS
Lindsey Sturwold got the start in goal for the Mount, receiving the win with five saves on the five shots on target by Rose-Hulman. Mackenzie Money played all 90 minutes in the game, having one shot on the night.

QUOTABLE
"Tonight was a huge win for us. Our last 4 games were against very good opponents and we needed to stop the slide," said head coach Josh Hess. "Rose-Hulman is a traditional power in our conference and we were able to scrap for a this win. We have several of our normal starters out and everyone stepped up. The players on this team play hard every time they step on the field, you can never question their effort."

The Lions travel to Anderson University (6-3, 2-0 HCAC) at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Anderson, Ind.
