Box Score 2 The Lions women's volleyball team lost 3-1 against Kenyon College and 3-0 to Heidelberg University at home Saturday on the second day of the Charlie Wrublewski Tournament.
The Lions (3-5) caught fire in game one. Jadah Jackson (Indianopolis, Ind./Ben Davis) broke a block in the beginning of the game to bring the score to 9-6. Jackson then had a kill to bring in the win 25-20. Jackson led the Lionsâ with 20 kills.
MSJ fell behind in the second set and never recovered, losing 15-25. In the third set the Lions gave a tough fight but lost 20-25. The Lionsâ struggled in game four as well, losing 17-25.
The Lionsâ had a slow start to the Heidelberg (7-1) match losing the first set 14-25. Freshman, Ali Rasche (Ross, OH/Ross) helped the Lions stay strong in the second set keeping the game close at 7-11 with a kill, but the Lions lost the set 15-25.
In the third set Cailey Plemmons (Oxford, OH/Talawanda) tied the game 9-9 with a kill but the Lions were unable to hang late in the set, losing 22-25.
MSJ will be back in action at 7 p.m., Sept. 16 against Wilmington College in the Harrington Center.
