The Mount St. Joseph University women's volleyball team is back to its winning ways, grabbing a 3-0 victory against Wilmington College on Wednesday night.
The Mount will be back in action Friday and Saturday when it begin the Hiram College Tournament in Hiram, Ohio. The Lions will take on Fredonia State University and Kalamazoo College on Friday, and will play Hiram College and Marietta College on Saturday.
The Lions and the Quakers played closely throughout the first set. Jadah Jackson (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) had a block to tie the game 14-14. The Lions grabbed the first set 25-18, holding the Quakers to -.154 hitting percentage.
A Kill by Emily Bostian (Liberty Township, OH/Lakota East) gave the Lions a win in the second set 25-19. A kill by Cheyenne Tobler (Verona, KY/St. Henry) gave the Lions to an 11-5 lead in the third set, which it would go on to win 25-12.
Jessica Wilgenbusch (Sumnan, Ind./East Central) keyed the offense with seven kills and added six digs. Taylor Ruder (Oxford, OH/Talawanda) totaled 14 digs.
