Box Score Jessica Wilgenbusch (Sunman, IN/East Central) led the all players with 11 kills on Tuesday night as the Lions women’s volleyball team fell 3-2 at Berea College.
The match was a slugfest that featured 52 kills for MSJ (5-9, 0-0) compared to 44 for Berea. The difference was defense with Berea posting 15.5 team blocks and 78 digs compared to 6.5 and 71 for the Lions, respectively.
In the end Berea got the win 22-25, 25-15, 23-25, 26-24, 15-9.
Jadah Jackson (Indianapolis, IN/Ben Davis) was the Lions’ most efficient attacker, hitting .368 with nine kills, and just two errors on 19 attempts.
The Lions travel to Muskingum University for the HCAC/OAC Challenge where the team will play four matches over two days beginning at 1 p.m. Friday against Capital University.
